At the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, STRATFORD 11th.April - 13th.July
In Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, we journey from the warm, sensual world of Cleopatra's Egypt to the cold, formal Rome of Mark Antony. The passionate but doomed love affair between these two heroic leaders struggles to survive amidst the clash of their two opposing worlds. The role of Cleopatra is played by Sinead Cusack, last seen at the RSC in 1986 as Lady Macbeth and winner of both the 1998 Evening Standard Award and Critic's Award for Best Actress. Stuart Wilson plays Antony and has appeared in many plays for both stage and television and a number of films, including more recently The Mask of Zorro and Vertical Limit. The able cast also includes Clive Wood who has numerous appearances in theatre, film and television to his credit and Clifford Rose who is a founder member of the RSC.
