VSCC at Oulton Park June 2006

Despite the clash of timing with the England football teams opening game in the World Cup, a large and enthusiastic crowd turned out for the Vintage Sports Car Clubs meeting at Oulton Park and were amply rewarded with the usual mix of exciting on track action and nostalgic easy going atmosphere. It was even perfect weather!

The Oulton Park circuit is an ideal location for an event like the VSCC meeting with what are now very good facilities for both the competitors and spectators alike, and with the usual VSCC attitude of being as open and welcoming to the public as is possible with an open paddock area etc. it really is a memorable and hugely enjoyable event. Not only is it an amazing sight just to see these incredible old vehicles close up, but to actually see them racing flat out, sometimes 3 abreast on a narrow track and actually overtaking is a quite unique site these days.

If you haven't yet been to a VSCC meeting do make sure you make the effort as you certainly won't be disappointed. They hold a variety of events up and down the country throughout the year and to check out the latest news and events listings visit their site at www.vscc.co.uk
