Travel through time at Antiques for Everyone

A special display of travel related antiques and collectables will be a major attraction at the summer Antiques for Everyone fair, arriving at the NEC, Birmingham from 23rd – 26th July 2009.

To help celebrate Birmingham International Airport’s 70th anniversary the fair will showcase a special selection of antique maps, globes, luggage and all the accoutrements from the late 19th and early 20th century. The feature promises to create a fascinating display and nostalgic reminder of the golden age of travel, a time when going abroad was a great adventure.

More than 300 specialist dealers from around the world will be in Birmingham for the fair, with an unrivalled range of high quality authenticated antiques, fine art and objets d’art. The objects on display total more than £20m with fine period furniture, pottery, glass, sculpture, jewellery, fashion, arts and crafts and much more on offer.

Visitors can browse the two distinctive sections at the fair, with prices ranging from £10 for Victorian novelties to more than £100,000 for the finest paintings.

Section One offers specialist dealers in fine furniture and decorative accessories, silver, pottery, porcelain, jewellery, textiles, arms and armour and sculpture. Section Two sees around three hundred dealers with specialties including Roman and Chinese antiquities, Steiff teddy bears, French clocks, fine engravings, working barometers, tea caddies, early tin-plate toys, scientific instruments, kitchen antiques, decorative brass, copper, sculpture, textiles, Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

The Antiques for Everyone fair opens at the NEC in Birmingham on Thursday 23rd July and runs until Sunday 26th July 2009. Admission will be £12 on the day or £10 in advance. Visitors to the fair also benefit from free parking and a free guide.
