Finally banish bad breath with the new 2 in 1 tooth and tongue brush & foaming paste from Aquafresh

"Aquafresh Extreme Clean is the first complete system to actually address tongue hygiene, something that has been severely neglected until now."

To make your mouth feel really clean you have to ensure you totally clean it. In the past people have focussed on teeth and gums, but have forgotten their tongue – one of the main sources of bad breath! Now Aquafresh have launched the Aquafresh Extreme Clean Tooth & Tongue brush and paste cleaning system – to help save the 52% of Brits who suffer from the embarrassment of bad breath.

The Aquafresh Tongue & Tooth brush is proven to remove 5x more bacteria than brushing alone. The multi-angle plaque-cleaning bristles provide teeth with a really thorough clean. On the back of the head soft tongue-cleaning grooves have been specifically designed to gently and effectively remove bacteria from the tongue surface. The flexible neck bends to absorb excess pressure, reducing the risk of damage to the gums.

Don’t forget your tongue, because cleaning your teeth and tongue, at the same time, removes almost 900 million bacteria. Compared to just cleaning your teeth alone, which removes just 178 million bacteria.

To keep those bacteria under control Aquafresh Extreme Clean toothpaste with micro-active formula has been developed to use with the brush. The Aquafresh stripes transform into micro-active foam, releasing thousands of germ fighting bubbles that shower your whole mouth. The dynamic foaming action seeks out hard to reach places, even the pores on your tongue – to combat the source of bad breath. Your teeth are left clean and whole mouth energized with an icy cool sensation, leaving your mouth feeling invigorated for hours.

Tongue cleaning may be something new, but it could not be simpler with the Aquafresh Tooth and Tongue Brush - simply rotate the brush and place the cleaning grooves on the back of the tongue. Draw the grooves forward to the front of the tongue, rinse and repeat over the whole tongue surface. Coupled with brushing, your mouth will be left feeling sensationally clean.

Zetsu Shin is the Chinese medicine of tongue analysis for general health.
A coated or oddly coloured tongue is a good indicator that all is not well e.g. a very red tongue often indicates anaemia.

Hints and Tips
Visit the dentist and hygienist regularly, not only to check your teeth, but also the tongue and other parts of the mouth for early signs of problems.
Check your own tongue for anything unusual e.g. persistent ulcers or white patches, especially if you smoke.
Smoking causes bad breath, leads to a coated tongue and greatly increases the chances of mouth cancer - in short. Don't do it!
Do NOT brush your teeth immediately after eating, it takes at least 30 minutes for the acids formed to return to normal, during that period tooth brushing may actually damage your teeth! (i.e. don't brush after every meal!!)
Eat a healthy well balanced diet, limiting sugars to mealtimes and avoid snacking.
Good old fashioned salt water is a cheap and effective mouth rinse for a sore throat, erupting wisdom teeth and general mouth soreness.

"Aquafresh Extreme Clean could do to bad breath what toothbrushes did to tooth decay!"

Step by Step guide to fresh breath and total oral care.
A toothbrush head should be small -- about 1 inch by 1/2 inch -- and should have a handle suitable for firm grasping. The bristles of the brush should be soft, nylon, and rounded at the ends. This helps ensure that the brush bristles are reaching the spaces between the teeth as well as the surface. Some brushes are too abrasive and can wear down the enamel on teeth. Thus, in most cases, medium and hard bristles are not recommended
Step 1: Place the toothbrush beside your teeth at a 45-degree angle.
Step 2: Gently brush teeth only a small group of teeth at a time (in a circular or elliptical motion) until the entire mouth is covered.
Step 3: Brush the outside of the teeth, inside of the teeth, the chewing surfaces, and in between each tooth.
Step 4: Gently clean the tongue for at least 30 seconds to remove bacteria and freshen breath.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1 through 4 at least twice daily.
