Top Leisure Show celebrates forty years of success

Forty years of success will be celebrated in February 2001 by the National Boat, Caravan and Leisure Show with a bigger and better show than ever before!

One of the most successful and longest running exhibitions ever, this renowned nine day show will take place at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham from 17th -25th February 2001.

Not only is 2001 the show’s 40th birthday, it’s also the 25th year that the National Boat, Caravan and Leisure Show has been held at the NEC. To mark such an exciting year and in line with demand from new and existing exhibitors, the show is expanding into a further hall. As such, the 2001 show will be larger than ever before with a total floor space of 50,000 sq metres.

Once again everything to do with boating both at sea and on inland waterways will feature strongly in Hall One where there will be a wonderful display of boats, cruisers and yachts.Hall Two will be dominated by touring caravans while Hall Three will again be filled with the latest models of motorhomes from both UK and overseas manufacturers. Hall Four - the new home for camping - will also feature a display of park and holiday homes in a parkland feature sponsored by Mitsubishi as well as the Saga sponsored SAGA Café.

Not only will the show be a superb opportunity for enthusiasts to find their dream boat, motorhome, caravan, tent or Park home, but there will also be the chance to purchase the latest leisure accessories.
Additionally the show’s popular tourism centre provides plenty of information on the latest places to visit with representatives from a number of destinations in the UK and Europe including France, Sweden, Ireland and Spain.

“The 2001 show is going to be the best yet,” commented Exhibition Manager, George Barbrook. “ Not only do we have a large selection of motorhomes, touring caravans and tents on display but we also have the largest number of narrowboats ever seen at this show. The success of previous shows means that many exhibitors have increased their space for 2001 - a sure sign that the National Boat, Caravan and Leisure Show is the showplace for the outdoor leisure industry.”
