returns as a 3 day event!
Cake International 2010 The Sugarcraft & Cake Decoration Show
NEC, Birmingham 5-6-7 November 2010
With Kirstie Allsopp inspiring even the youngest bakers to have a go at cake
decorating, ICHF Events, together with the Cake Craft and Decoration
Magazine and the British Sugarcraft Guild, will inspire you, at the biggest
and best Cake International show to date. Taking place at the NEC,
Birmingham from the 5-6-7 November, this newly extended three-day event will
offer advice, materials and ideas for creating your very own masterpieces.
With over 90 exhibitors selling all the latest cake decorating supplies and
products it will be the biggest show ever staged. Whether a beginner or an
expert sugarcraft artist, there is something for everyone with an array of
cutters, moulds, hand tools, stencils, sugarpaste, ribbons and much more!
Demonstrations will be available throughout each day of the show (full
booking details at www.ichf.co.uk) with demonstrators from both home and
abroad offering advice and ideas.
This year’s international demonstrators include Jem Cutters from South
Africa, MS Products from Brazil; Fiesta Cakes, Cakes n Supplies by Ximena
and Cake Connection, all from the USA; CI Rosgar EU from Columbia and
Marcela Capo from Argentina.
This year’s international guest, Alan Tetreault from the USA, will show how
you can create your own fantasy ‘mixed media’ flowers in his ‘Sparkling
Flowers’ demonstration. Make flowers out of gelatine or traditional gumpaste
petals and create your very own Garden of Eden!
With cakes fit for a King, Paul Bradford from Truly Scrumptious, one of the
many brilliant demonstrators from the UK, will reveal why his cakes are
loved by royalty and celebrities alike. Paul will exhibit his Dragon Cake
creation that epitomises the detail in his work and includes sparkle candles
coming out of the nostrils!

Other UK demonstrators include Ann Pickard, who will show beginners how to
use simple modelling techniques; Steven Kirkby will let your imagination run
wild with his class on making Faberge style sugar eggs; Lindy Smith will
demonstrate the art of contemporary cupcake decorating and Georgie Godbold
will teach you how to create your very own Christmas ‘Wobblies’! (Full

Visit the Authors area where you can pick up top tips from cake decorator
guru’s, including Tal Tsafrir, Alan Dunn and Maisie Parrish and even get
your very own book signed by your favourite author! Tal, from Israel,
specialises in cake design and sugar craft, producing some truly astounding
results. Home grown Maisie has recently released her 8th book, ‘Fun and
Original Children’s Cakes’ and is sure to leave you with many inspirational
ideas to take home and try yourself.
Be inspired by Pat Russell and the Birmingham British Sugarcraft Guild’s
newest sugar creation, featuring a Tropical Rainforest with a colourful
parrot celebrating their 25th Anniversary! The Cake Craft & Decoration
Magazine team, led by Editor Julie Askew, will display some of their
favourite cakes that have featured in the magazine over the past year. The
team will offer tips and advice and will try their best to answer any
questions you may have!
Dawn Gemmell and her team from University College Birmingham will return to
the show with ‘A Taste of Sugar’, a hands-on workshop specifically designed
for any beginners. The Cake Decorators Kitchen will also offer lots of mouth
watering demonstrations by Elaine Haines and Lisa Slatter.
The British Sugarcraft Guild will be on hand with all the best advice and
ideas for your next project. With regional displays, dedicated competition
classes and the ever popular Demonstration Forum featuring industry
celebrities, this is one area you do not want to miss!
