CRUFTS
– WHERE DOGS TAKE THE LEAD
 4th – 7th March 2004
 NEC Birmingham.

From the 4th – 7th March 2004 the Kennel Club are staging the 101st chance to spot the best Dalmatians and nearly 200 other breeds representing the world’s best dogs at the ‘Greatest Dog Show in the World’ Crufts, at the NEC Birmingham.

Not only is Crufts the ‘Greatest Dog Show in the World’, it is now officially recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest one too. The 2003 event, the hundredth time the show had been held, was attended by over 24,000 dogs, almost 130,000 visitors and Crufts 2004 is on course to be just as successful… if not more so! With more overseas dogs and new exciting displays and demonstrations, visitors, competitors and exhibitors from all over the world will be spoilt for choice when they flock to this annual canine spectacular.

As well as the highly prestigious Best In Show title, other hotly contested canine competitions will include the new world obedience cup competition involving competitors from all over the world. Fresh from being awarded gold in France, the British Agility Team will also be demonstrating their superior skills and showing just why they are world leaders, as well as Flyball which will also entertain the audience.

Dog lovers and prospective owners will also get the chance to get up close and personal with 180 breeds of potential pedigree partners in the Discover Dogs area, where they can get expert guidance from handlers who will help them to find their own perfect match.

Other top attractions will include demonstrations of Heelwork to Music and the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme amongst others. Nearly 400 trade stands will also be present offering everything that you and your canine could possibly wish for, with many special Crufts discounts on offer.

Said Caroline Kisko, Secretary to the Kennel Club “Every year, Crufts continues to evolve and present visitors with the ultimate celebration of man’s best friend. New breeds for this years show, the 114th year of Crufts, include the Azawakh and the Portuguese Podengo dogs in the Hound group and the Eurasier breed in the Utility Group, as well as everyone’s favourites including the ever popular Labrador Retriever.”
