WE WANT YOUR OLD TACKLE !

The National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair
SUNDAY May 30th 2004
The Abbey Sports Stadium
Doors 0900 - 1600hrs

The Abbey Sports Stadium will once again be the venue for the National
Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair. The event, which is the biggest in the
Country, is sponsored by Neil Freeman's Angling Auctions, the UK's premier
auctioneers of angling related items.

Visitors will be able to buy, sell or swap fishing tackle, books, cased fish, angling trophies, in fact anything related to the sport, at any  of the 56 stalls present. Free valuations can be obtained at any of the stalls.

Angling Times vintage tackle expert CHRIS SANDFORD and sponsor NEIL FREEMAN will be on hand to offer the best advice regarding the valuation and sale of angling items.
Carp Historian CHRIS BALL will be exhibiting some of his collection of
rare Dick Walker memorabilia and relating numerous tales of big fish captures.

There will be the usual auction of ' lots ' donated by the stallholders in
order to raise money for angling related charities.

On sale will be a veritable treasure trove of vintage tackle including  reels
by Hardy's, Allcocks, Youngs, Cane rods, Wicker baskets, Cased fish,
books and catalogues.

Have you ever wondered what that cane fishing rod was worth? Is all
that old fishing tackle taking up space in the loft? Then the answers to your
questions can be found at the National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair.

So, with high prices being paid for vintage fishing tackle, now is the
time to sort out the attic or shed and bring along your old rods and reels.
They could be worth a lot of money.

This event is open to the public from 0930hrs to 1600hrs and will cost
just £1 for adults, accompanied children are free.

So if you are a collector or just someone who wants to relive 'The Good
Old Days' of angling, then come along to the Abbey Sports Stadium.

Hot and cold refreshments are available throughout the day, and there
is ample free parking on site.

The Abbey Sports Stadium can be reached by exiting junction 2 of the
M42 motorway onto the A441 to Redditch from where it will be sign posted.

For information on the event please contact the organiser, BOB TURNER
on 01934 416492 or mobile 07989 219180.
