 24th – 28th November

The BBC Good Food Show, sponsored by npower gas, Britain’s biggest and most exciting food event takes place at The NEC Birmingham from the 24th – 28th November and this year it offers even more exciting food experiences. With over 600 exhibitors it’s a chance to taste and buy new and specialist foods and tipples. The show will also include hundreds of live demonstrations from household celebrity chefs, so once again the show proves to be every food lovers dream and an unmissable event! Jamie Oliver, Ainsley Harriott, Rick Stein and Anthony Worrall Thompson will be among the line up of chefs preparing sensational dishes in the demonstration theatres, while the wine experts will be hosting tastings in the ever popular wine theatre.

With brand new show features, new exhibitors and more to offer discerning food and drink lovers than ever before, the BBC Good Food Show is the place to be this year.

A British Love Affair…
The Great British Food Festival, dedicated to celebrating the wealth and diversity of British food, will host a collection of small, independent UK producers and regional food groups. It also boasts Rick Stein’s Food Heroes and producers from Henrietta Green’s Food Lovers’ Fair.

The Great British Food Theatre, sponsored by Britannia, lies at the heart of the Great British Food Festival. Chefs and food writers including Rick Stein, Brian Turner and Henrietta Green will demonstrate recipes from all corners of the UK, using the very best local produce.

NEW this year – Jimmy Doherty of Jimmy’s Farm fame will appear with contributors and presenters from BBC Radio 4’s Food Programme and Farming Today to host discussions and competitions in the Great British Food Theatre. Winners of the 2004 BBC Radio Food & Farming Awards will also be on hand to help the Food Programme’s presenter Sheila Dillon showcase award winning produce.

Live Theatre…
Brand NEW for 2004 is ‘Entertain’ a 1,100 seat theatre hosting demonstrations by top restaurant chefs including Gino D’Acampo, Ken Hom, Curtis Stone and John Torode. Their challenge? To produce a three-course meal paired with the best selection of Australian wines that visitors can recreate at home in just 40 minutes.

Jamie Oliver

Jamie Oliver is sure to provide some entertainment in the Show’s Supertheatre, along with other household names such as Gordon Ramsay, Ainsley Harriott, Rick Stein and Antony Worrall Thompson.

To Your Health…
Health plays a key role at this year’s Show with the introduction of a NEW healthy living area, sponsored by Alpro Soya and The Times supplement: Body & Soul. Visitors will get tips from health professionals, including fitness expert Jane Wake, plus see demonstrations of healthy recipes from chef Lesley Waters (more details to be announced).

A Toast…
The popularity of the World of Wine, Beers & Spirits is a true testament to our love of the amber nectar. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, or simply want to know the difference between Chardonnay and Cabernet, wine experts such as Oz Clarke and Kitty Johnson will guide you through tutored tastings at the Wine, Beer & Spirits Theatre.
