GO FISHING AT THE NEC!
Visit The NEC in Birmingham to catch the latest products and land top tips from Britain’s top anglers at this year’s Go Fishing Show, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 February. Go Fishing is the UK’s largest and most comprehensive angling event for coarse, carp, game and sea fishing. The show will feature all the latest products and innovations in the world of angling! In the Angler’s Challenge, fishermen and women will witness at fish-eye level, the winning tactics used by Matt Hayes and Bob Nudd while, courtesy of the latest new hi-tech magazine, Angling Times Advanced, they will see for themselves the vital tactical advantages employed by the big names as they reveal all in their tackle boxes! The big secrets of the nation’s Stillwater masters will be revealed in the Angling Times Baggin’ Zone. This zone, stocked with coarse fish, will replicate a typical commercial fishery. Experts tips on getting more bites will also be available from John Wilson in the Improve Your Coarse Fishing Arena. Carp fishing’s number one, Terry Hearn, will be a major presence at this year’s show. Visitors can meet him in his World of Carp and listen as he talks to a host of anglings top names at Hearnmere, the purpose built indoor pool designed to mimic the shoreline of a typical English gravel pit. Terry will be talking tactics used to bank big carp across this country and Europe and help you to catch more fish. There will also be Rig and Bait Clinics, where you can have the opportunity to improve your casting style at the lakeside school. Game stars Iain Barr, Gareth Jones, Paul Proctor, Andy Murray and Alberto Salvini will demonstrate their skills on the Trout Fisherman Reservoir in the Casting and Fishing Clinic. They will also participate in the Advice Squad Live! where more secrets will be revealed. Meanwhile, top fly tiers will demonstrate their fascinating techniques for river, reservoir and saltwater flies and there will be daily demonstrations on cane rod building, fish mounting and fish filleting. Centrepiece of the Sea angling area will be ‘Birmingham-on-Sea,’ a specially built beach where the country’s top shore anglers will be giving talks on tackle and techniques. Sea Angler’s Bait and Rig Clinic will host experts including Steve Mills, Dave Lewis, Paul Kerry and Roger Bayzand. Whilst in the harbour area kids of all ages can have fun testing their skills on the shark simulator!
