THE ‘UK GOLF SHOW’ GETS READY TO
TEE OFF AT BIRMINGHAM’S NEC

The newest and most exciting golf exhibition of 2006, The UK Golf Show will be teeing off at Birmingham’s NEC on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th November. With leading brands including market leaders Ping, TaylorMade, Cleveland Golf and Callaway exhibiting the latest golf equipment, fashions and gadgets and gizmos, The UK Golf Show is a must for any golf enthusiast.

These big names will be fully embracing the interactive feel of this year’s show by rolling up in their European Tour Vehicles and allowing visitors a fascinating insight into the service and workmanship that the likes of Sergio Garcia and Retief Goosen benefit from. As well as showcasing the latest product developments, they will also be offering their custom-build services to the show’s visitors.

Matt Johnson of TaylorMade said, “We believe it isn't just our Tour Staff professionals that deserve a first-class custom build service, but all players. So, in keeping with the interactive theme of the show, TaylorMade is allowing visitors the opportunity to step into the shoes of a Tour player and have clubs built on our European Tour Vehicle. Attendees can be fitted, to the exact specification required, by tour technicians who, with the help of our MATT-i launch monitor, will ensure you are equipped with the right TaylorMade clubs to help improve your game”.

One of the main features of the show will be the amazing 30 bay indoor driving range where Mizuno, TaylorMade, True Strike, Callaway and Cleveland Golf to name but a few will each have their own bays manned by professionals and technical advisors on hand to offer expert advice and make product and technique recommendations.

Covering over 10,000 square metres, The UK Golf Show aims to encourage youngsters to pick up a club and get into the swing of golf. And because there is nothing a golfer likes doing more than playing, the organisers have created a show that is fully interactive, accessible, fun and informative for all the family. From the would-be start-up golfer to the all weather golfing professional, there’s guaranteed to be something for everybody at this year’s show.

As well as the driving range, The UK Golf Show has indoor putting greens, a chipping area featuring the flamboyant trick-shot master David Edwards, and big prize interactive competitions which will run throughout the three days, including a Nearest the Pin competition which will be free to enter although entrants will be encouraged to make a donation to The UK Golf Show’s official charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Heart Care. There will also be a Hole in One ‘simulator’ Competition. Using two of the world’s most technologically advanced golfing simulators the UK Golf Show will give one lucky winner the chance to sink that elusive hole in one that every golfer dreams of!

Britain’s top professional golfers and golfing organisations will be on the live seminar stage to share their experiences. Visitors can fire their questions at professionals such as the UK's number one coach Gary Alliss as well as enjoying numerous demonstrations from companies such as Explanar who will showcase its revolutionary golf training system. Young Masters Golf will be holding seminars aimed specifically at children and lady golfers while those looking to pick up a few hints and tips can speak to some of the country’s top ‘swing doctors’ will be on hand to offer advice on how to best improve their game.

What a golfer wears is almost as important as the gear they use and with this in mind, there will be four daily fashion shows bringing glamour to the ‘fairway’ with the very latest fashions from the biggest designer golfing brands and labels for both men and women.

The De Vere Belfry Retail Outlet will provide the ideal place to stock up on everything the golfer needs. There are a number of product launches taking place at the show including a new take on Golf called ‘Qolf’. Already popular in the US, Qolf combines Golf and Croquet. There are also a host of new golfing gizmos and gadgets such as umbrellas that turn into chipping nets and remote control golfing trolleys!

The UK Golf Show will take place at the NEC, Birmingham from the 24th–26th November 2006, with tickets priced at just £6 for children and £10 for adults when booked in advance, or £7.50 for children and £12 for adults on the door.
