THE MOST FAMOUS DOG OF ALL TIME TO FIND A NEW HOME IN CINEMAS ACROSS THE COUNTRY THIS CHRISTMAS.

PRODUCED ENTIRELY ON LOCATION IN THE UK AND IRELAND.

Based on Eric Knight’s best selling novel Lassie Come Home, this heartwarming tale of love, trust and heroism, from producer/director Charles Sturridge has been shot entirely on location in the U.K. and Ireland, expertly using the novel’s original British roots to create an entertainment for a whole new generation.

LASSIE is the timeless story of the remarkable bond between a young boy and his dog set in a Yorkshire mining town.  After falling on hard times, the Carraclough family is forced to sell Lassie, their beloved dog, to the Duke of Rudling. When Lassie finds herself transported five hundred miles away to live in the Duke’s remote castle on the northern coast of Scotland, she is determined to defy the odds and return to her home. So begins an incredible adventure, set against a stunning series of British landscapes which sees Lassie facing dangers natural and human and finding help in unexpected places as she makes her way across the country, to reach home in time for Christmas.

LASSIE stars legendary actor Peter O’Toole (seven-time Academy Award nominee for such classics as Lawrence of Arabia, Goodbye Mr. Chips and The Ruling Class), Samantha Morton (Sweet and Lowdown, Minority Report), Peter Dinklage (Elf, The Station Agent), Steve Pemberton (League of Gentlemen), John Lynch (The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Sliding Doors, In the Name of the Father), Jemma Redgrave (Howards End) and Gregor Fisher (The Merchant of Venice, Love Actually and the hit BBC TV series Rab C. Nesbitt).

LASSIE is written, directed and produced by Charles Sturridge (Fairytale, Gulliver’s Travels, Shackleton).

LASSIE will be released throughout the UK by Entertainment Film Distributors on 16th December 2005.
