You may never have thought of popping in for afternoon tea at one of Birmingham's most prestigious hotels, but that is exactly what is now on offer at the city's Marriott Hotel.  This is the latest innovation at the Marriott and it's catching on fast!

What could be better after a hard day's shopping than to while away a  pleasant hour or two indulging yourself with this truly English custom?  But this isn't just a quick cup of tea and a slice of cake, this is afternoon tea in style. The surroundings are what you would expect from a hotel of this calibre (Bill Clinton chose to stay here for the G8 Summit) - elegance and style are the watchwords.  The service is excellent of course with the right degree of  attentiveness without being obsequious while the actual afternoon tea is a delight. The full tea  consists of sandwiches, cakes and plenty of tea (you can choose from a selection of freshly brewed varieties) and for that real touch of decadence, you can also have a glass of champagne! There are other choices - a cream tea or a smaller version of the full works but if you're going to indulge yourself, why not go the whole way and do it properly?

This idea is sure to be a winner and has a wide appeal - it is ideal for shoppers as we've said, and is a good alternative to popping for a quick drink after work - why not go for a bit of comfort and indulgence to unwind after a day at the office? It is also becoming the new way to conduct business meetings - what better way to entertain a client!  So, why not give it a try and see for yourself?
