The National Mela – The Mega Asian Experience
Returns to the NEC – With a New Partner!

The National Mela, is the UK’s biggest indoor celebration of Asian culture and lifestyle, has announced the confirmed dates for the three day extravaganza. The mega-event will return to the NEC in Birmingham across the weekend of 18th, 19th and 20th November.

The announcement comes alongside key changes in the infrastructure of the event, with Clarion Events now taking over the financial and operational reins of The National Mela. With over 25 years of organising expertise, Clarion Events currently runs 41 events across twelve markets, including the Baby Show, Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show and The Daily Telegraph House & Garden Show. Clarion Events brings operational resource, strong exhibition industry relationships and sales capability to The National Mela.

Lee Masters, Portfolio Director of Clarion Events and the man behind the original BBC Mega Mela back in 1998 says of the event: “I have always believed in this fabulous event, and we at Clarion believe that our knowledge and experience within the exhibition industry will allow us to take Mela to a new level. Our first major initiative is to double the size of the show – we are now taking three halls at the National Exhibition Centre compared to one in 2004. New show innovations and celebrity guests will be confirmed in the coming months – watch this space!”

Media Moguls, one of the UK’s leading ethnic PR and marketing agency’s will provide feature content, cultural direction as well as handling the marketing and PR for the show. Managing Director of Media Moguls, Anjna Raheja has also been appointed Show Director, to ensure the event maintains its key brand values and cultural focus whilst continuing to expand and innovate.

Masters continues: “ We are delighted to be working with Media Moguls again - this is tremendous news both for Clarion and for Mela visitors, exhibitors, sponsors and the community it serves. This ground-breaking alliance means the identity, presentation, staging and communication of the event will be taken to a new level. So make sure you put the dates in your diary now!“

By providing interactive content, wonderful shopping, first class celebrities, culturally balanced entertainment, access to information and uniting the community at large, The National Mela offers unique sales and marketing opportunities to exhibitors across six core consumer zones:

• Careers, Commerce & Education
• Lifestyle, Music & Travel
• Sport & Leisure

Above all else,
The National Mela is a great day out for the whole family. The environment created at The National Mela will be utterly conducive to every family member enjoying a fantastic show and exhibitors enjoying record levels of business.

The National Mela will take place at the NEC, Birmingham on Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November 2005.
