HONDA AT THE GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW

The all-new Accord makes
its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show next month. One of the first
cars to be unveiled – at 08.30 on Tuesday 4 March – the European Accord will be
shown in both Saloon and Tourer body styles. It will be joined by the FCX
Clarity, Honda’s ground-breaking hydrogen fuel cell car – featuring for the
first time ever on European soil. The CR-Z hybrid sports car concept also makes
its debut on this side of the world after its reveal in October last year.
The new Accord will
dominate the Honda stand, with ten examples of the latest models on display. The
new Accord is set to take on the more established premium marques in the
D-sector, with has a sportier and sleeker exterior and a high-quality, driver
focussed interior. It goes on sale in June 2008.
Also on display will be
the Accord’s new range of engines, with revised 2.0 and 2.4-litre petrol
powerplants and the all-new 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel. All engines in the Accord
range will comply with the forthcoming Euro 5 emissions standards.
FCX CLARITY
Headlining the environment area is the FCX Clarity, a 4-seat saloon fuel cell
vehicle with zero harmful emissions. Available to lease in the US this summer at
$600 per month, the FCX Clarity is the world’s first production hydrogen fuel
cell car – a road-going, practical saloon with next generation technology that
works effectively in the real-world. The FCX Clarity will also launch in Japan
in the autumn.
CR-Z CONCEPT
The CR-Z concept design study is the basis of a forthcoming hybrid sports car.
With stunning styling coupled to low-emissions hybrid technology, the CR-Z
promises an exciting driving experience while minimising environmental impact.
RA108 FORMULA ONE
CAR
Visitors to the stand’s competition zone will be treated to the first public
viewing of the 2008 Honda RA108 F1 car. Joining the RA108 in the competition
zone, will be the Honda Civic Type R R3, which is designed to meet the new FIA
Group R3 rally regulations. The eagerly awaited R3 is now available to rally
drivers, after a year of intensive and successful testing and competition.
