GROWING DEMAND SEES CLASSIC EXPANSION

The International Classic Motor Show, 10 & 11 November 2001, will
meet increasing demand by opening a third hall for the very first time.

See our FREE TO ENTER competition for tickets to the show
at the bottom of the page

With visitor numbers increasing year on year to over 30,000, the UK’s
largest Classic Motor Show will now be able to offer visitors a whole new
hall, packedwith attractions, displays and new car clubs - many of which
have never exhibited before.

The additional hall will mean an increase in exhibition floor space by 25 per
cent - some 10,000 additional square metres - and as a result, for the very
first time, a record 177 car clubs will exhibit at the event, reaffirming the
show’s position as the most important event in the classic calendar.

“The acquisition of the third hall demonstrates our long term commitment to
this event and the industry as a whole resulting in a growth from 123 to nearly 200 clubs now attending the event.” explained Andy Rouse, sales manager for Centre Exhibitions, a part of the NEC Group, who organise the event.

Hundreds of car displays will cover the whole motoring spectrum with
entries from Bentley, Jaguar, Porsche, Aston Martin, TVR, Morris, Ford,
Vauxhall and Austin, to name but a few.

Special attractions will include: the finals of three major concours - Jaguar,
American Classics and Autoglym.

For the ‘hands on’ enthusiast there will be the Restoration Workshop feature
sponsored by Practical Classic Magazine and Frost Auto Restoration
Techniques, with demonstrations throughout the weekend by Leeds
College of Technology.

RECORD BREAKER IS LOWEST OF THE LOW

The International Classic Motor Show, 10 & 11 November 2001, will
host the world’s lowest vehicle - a Mini by name and mini by nature.

At only 24 inches from the floor, the stunning vehicle, owned by Birmingham
-based Adrian Beale, is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records at the
‘World’s Lowest Vehicle’.

The car started life as a Mini back in 1976 and has been custom built with
Mini body parts for Motor Show and events.  It boasts a Rover V8 engine
that has 300 break horsepower and can reach speeds of up to 180 miles per
hour.

The car will form part of a special ‘Mini World’ feature at the UK’s largest
Classic Motor Show, which will be opening a third hall for the very first
time this year.

Other attractions at the show will include: the Jaguar, American Classics
and Autoglym concours finals.  For the hands on enthusiast there will be a
Restoration Workshop feature sponsored by Practical Classics Magazine
and Frost Auto Restoration Techniques, with demonstrations through out
the weekend by Leeds College of Technology.

Increasing in popularity is the Autojumble area will be packed with over
300 stands for the enthusiast in search of that elusive part of accessory.
Plus there will be many models, books, literature, paintings and print
bargains to be found all under the one roof.

Exhibitors are being encouraged to decorate their stands, vehicles and
of course, themselves, in accordance with this year’s theme ‘Sights and
Sounds of the Decade’ which will ensure a range of bright and lively
displays across the whole motoring spectrum from the last fifty years.
