SUZUKI SQUAD GOES PUBLIC AT AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL

SUZUKI’S GSX-R Factory Squad will make its first public appearance in the Bikesport section at the Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC on January 13 and 14, 2001.

With an exciting new rider and bike line-up for 2001, the Suzuki GB and Crescent Racing GSX-R Factory Squad is sure to make a major impact on the UK road racing scene, with the team riders competing in five races at each British Championship round.

Scotsman John Crawford, who will be competing in the British Superbike Championship onboard a factory backed GSX-R750 machine in 2001, will headline the Suzuki GSX-R Factory Squad. Crawford, a two-time British Supersport Champion, is one of the most popular riders in the paddock and a real title contender.

Karl Harris will race Suzuki’s stunning new GSX-R600 in the British Supersport Championship. Twenty-one year-old Harris is a former European Superstock Champion and one of the brightest young stars in British racing. He is one of the hot-favourites to take the title in 2001.

Harris will be joined in the squad by a yet-to-be-named rider who will compete on a similar GSX-R600 in the new Junior Superstock class. Suzuki is hoping to announce this rider at the Bikesport Show.

John Crockford completes the Suzuki GSX-R Factory Squad line-up. The ex-Superbike star will be competing in the British Superstock series onboard Suzuki’s awesome new GSX-R1000 in 2001. He is already being widely tipped as the favourite to win the Championship.

The Autosport Show is one of the biggest festivals of motor racing in the world. It is the first year that Bikesport has been featured at the show and Suzuki is anticipating a huge response to its new GSX-R Factory Squad from both motorcycle and car racing fans alike.
