Yes, the show with all the gear from every major manufacturer and distributor is back for a third year and it¹s bigger and better than ever. It is the only UK music show where you can lay your hands on the largest collection of musical equipment under one roof and meet the manufacturers of major brands face to face. It¹s the ideal opportunity to personally experience anything musical that's taking your fancy and to rub shoulders with many of the celebrities that will be there.

Music Live is actually 4 fantastic events in one! Mad About Guitars, Mad About Drums, Music Technology Live and DJUK combine to bring you THE music making event of the year. 32,000 visitors enjoyed the experience last year and this year will be even better. Whether you¹re a professional musician, semi-pro or only just thinking about taking up an instrument Music Live 2001 promises to have something for you.

Music Live 2001 also offers the ultimate retail experience by giving you all the latest gear at special show prices. Be it guitars, drums, the latest recording gear or the funkiest decks, we¹ve got the lot! Check out the Academy of Sound and Sound Control stands for some of the best deals around and treat yourself to an early Christmas present.

The live stage at Music Live 2001

ŒOcean Colour Scene headline the live stage at Music Live 2001 on all three consecutive days. The band are taking this opportunity to showcase their new album release on 5th November 'The Very Best of Ocean Colour Scene'. 
In addition to their appearance live on stage we are confident that the band will be available to cut the ribbon and sign autographs during the show.

Other acts lined up to perform on the live stage include, fusion's finest Frank Gambale who teams up with ace drummer Steve Smith, guitar guru Geoff Whitehorn performs with Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain, Paul Reed Smith and the Dragons with the art of acoustic guitar playing being provided courtesy of Doyle Dykes and Neil Brocklebank. On stand performances during the each day feature Dean Guitars with Jeff Berlin, JHS - Kevin Brown, Tascam - Keith Moore,Vigier - Ron Thal, E-Basses - John Randle and Nick Smith complete the line up to date.

Mad About Guitars

If you're into guitars and basses this is where you¹ll find the greatest selection known to humanity! 12 strings to 4 with all the stops in between will be available for you to try. 

Acoustic guitars are currently very popular and well represented along with the most happening amps, effects and exclusive hand built equipment. There¹ll be plenty of experts on hand to give you the benefit of their knowledge and experience. Mad About Guitars is simply a must for guitar fans.

Take a break from the madness and enjoy this pleasing environment whilst trying some of the latest and tastiest acoustic guitars around. Top brands and luthiers come together to present an array of beautifully crafted wood.

Mad About Drums

More kits than you can shake a pair of sticks at! And this year we have all the latest hardware set up in special soundproof rooms within the drum area so you can try them out. You can also see some of the world¹s finest drummers performing live in the separate clinic hall or get free drum lessons from some of the industry experts.
Top notch drummers already confirmed include Jo Jo Meyer, Steve Smith and Nicko McBrain.

Music Technology Live

The fast pace of music making technology waits for no one so a visit to Music Technology Live will make sure you¹re not left behind. See all the latest hardware, software, MIDI, mixers, PA and samplers. If you like to press the "Record" button then MTL is the nearest place to heaven you¹ll ever visit.

DJUK

DJUK is the country¹s ONLY  public DJ gear related show. Check out the coolest decks, the smoothest mixers and all the latest technology and flight cases. Sponsored by iDJ magazine, DJUK will have all the major companies and top demonstrators to hand plus loads of celebrities from the dance industry.

Mad about competitions.

As always there will be loads of goodies to be won in the various competitions leading up to and taking place at the show. Free tickets and thousands of pounds worth of equipment is up for grabs from the likes of Roland, Yamaha, HK Audio and Numark. Also an amazing £10,000 worth of audio engineering courses with The School of Sound Recording. Win this and it could be the start of a career in music!

Getting the knowledge

For some specialist help there are several seminars taking place to provide inside information, advise and direction for aspiring musicians.
