AT THE NATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE, BIRMINGHAM 
4th –7th October 2001. 

THE NATIONAL KNIT, STITCH & CREATIVE NEEDLECRAFTS SHOW, which is the UK’s largest knit, stitch and creative crafts show takes place at the National Exhibition Centre on 4th –7th October 2001. 
Opening times are 10am – 5pm each day.

With over 200 exhibitors THE NATIONAL KNIT, STITCH & CREATIVE NEEDLECRAFTS SHOW covers all aspects of hand and machine knitting, sewing, cross stitch, patchwork, quilting, embroidery, needlepoint, glass art, toy making, soft furnishings, crochet and other stitch and creative crafts.

Exhibitors ranging from individual designers and specialists to spinners and manufacturers will be on hand to show and sell yarns, machines, accessories, patterns, literature, kits and lots more.  Visitors will be able to see, try, compare and buy all of the latest knit, stitch and creative crafts products under one roof.

A whole series of attractions is lined up to inspire and entertain visitors including talks, workshops, demonstrations, advice centres and displays.  In addition there will be lots of other happenings including visiting celebrities, book signings, free draws, competitions, children’s events and lots more. 

Other free features at this year’s exhibition include the Knit Clinic – visitors opportunity to get first hand advice on knitting problems from resident experts, including, from the USA, Susan Lazear. The Cross Stitch Clinic where visitors can get first hand advice from cross stitch expert Susan Ryder and The Learning Cycle – special presentation workshops and advice centres hosted by various guilds, colleges and institutions. 

Other attractions at the show include 4 presentation theatres covering Hand and Machine Knitting, Sewing and Needlecrafts, Cross Stitch and Creative Crafts respectively.  Top names from these fields will be running presentations, talks, seminars and workshops on a variety of subjects. 

 In addition there will also be pattern making demonstrations from Sean Carey of Sewmaster and Crewel Work Make and Take classes from Philipa Turnbull of the Crewel Work Company and sewing master classes with TV personality Betty Foster MBE.

A popular feature planned for this years show will be the Machine Knitting Village where famous designers and experts from the field of machine knitting will be in attendance.  The Machine Knitting Village is sponsored by Machine Knitting Monthly whose editorial team will be in attendance together with the experts from other supporting publications such as Workbox and Machine Knitting News.

As well as the excellent on-site facilities at the NEC there will also be special rest and picnic areas. Free courtesy buses run from the car parks and the on-site Birmingham International railway station and there will be door stop set down and pick up facilities for coaches.  In addition visitors can shop till they drop and pick up bargains galore with out being weighed down with their purchases by using the shows free left-luggage service.

THE NATIONAL KNIT, STITCH & CREATIVE NEEDLECRAFTS SHOW is a must for all knitting, cross stitch, needlecraft and creative crafts enthusiasts and is the biggest and best exhibition of it’s kind in the UK.

Admission prices covering all attractions are£7.50 adults, £6.50 concessions (concessions include senior citizens, disabled and full time students) and accompanied children under 16 go free.
Reduced rate advance tickets are available at £1 off the above prices and organised parties receive 1 free ticket for every 10 paid for.  Numerous coach companies are organising trips to the exhibition and the organisers can give details of these.
