The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show

The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show, the definitive event for the entire outdoors community, returns to the NEC Birmingham for its fifth successive year on 17-19 March 2006.

Whether it’s climbing, diving and canoeing, or camping, walking and mountain biking, experts and manufacturers spanning the breadth of the outdoors industry will converge under one roof. The show will provide everything needed for novices and experts alike to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show promises to be even bigger and better with over 450 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors expected to attend the three-day-event.

The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show is the must-attend day out for enthusiasts, adrenalin fans and families alike to experience all aspects of being outside. Visitors will have the opportunity to buy the latest gear, meet specialist companies, seek advice from the experts, gain access to the latest routes, developments and information, and ‘Have-a-go’ at the vast range of activities on offer.

Special show features for 2006 include: Ordnance Survey In Action, the return of the popular Tent City and Camping Extravaganza, Outdoor Woman, Explore Britain with Millets, The Perfect Spot with Regatta, Activity Leaders’ Convention – provoking lively discussion on topical issues from child protection to litigation.

The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show is broad-based, incorporating five distinct but closely related sections designed to inform, enthuse and excite.

Go Diving! 2006 – a breath-taking zone boasting an array of diving destinations and equipment from top suppliers - the perfect opportunity to get inspired, whether you’re a beginner or an expert. Features include: The British Underwater Image Festival, PADI National Geographic Dive zone, Watersports Theatre. Have-a-go at the DIVE pool.
Berghaus World Theatre – a 600 capacity must-attend zone designed to inform and entertain. Brian Blessed, Ben Fogle, Alan Hinkes, Christopher Boddington and Andy Cave are amongst the celebrities on hand to share their tales and experiences of the great outdoors.

BMC Climb 2006 – one of the most action-packed zones, brimming with energy and atmosphere. Features include: The North Face UIAA-ICC Bouldering World Cup, the Climb Zone & Rock Café sponsored by Ford Ranger, and The Mountain Theatre. In addition, visitors have the chance to brush up on climbing skills, learn new techniques and be thoroughly entertained.

The BCU International Canoe Exhibition – experience the fun and thrills of canoeing and kayaking in this fun-packed zone. Features include: Meet the Experts lounge, demonstration area, BCU members lounge, Watersports Theatre and have-a-go canoe pool.

The Craghoppers Adventure Travel Show – the ONLY major adventure travel show outside of London. Exhibitors include: Craghoppers Adventure Travel, Crystal Active, Lonely Planet, Tourism Ireland and Visit England.

Trespass Adventure Show – a vibrant part of the show bringing together sports from mountain biking to hang-gliding to adventure racing. It’s a zone for visitors in search of activities, adrenaline sports, career advice and much more. Features include: Bike Arena with Specialized, Volkswagen Beach Café, and Careers Zone.
