Photo of an extremely
rare Hurricane Mk 1 that first flew during the Battle of Britain 65 years
ago making its display debut at Duxfords airshow to mark the 60th
anniversary of VE Day. It is thought to be the only surviving airworthy
Hurricane from the Battle of Britain during which it flew 49 combat missions
and shot down a number of enemy aircraft. It recently flew again for
the first time in 60 years following a 3 year restoration. |
