Win Royal Show tickets

Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire

If you share a passion for your rural way of life, join us in a unique celebration. Only at the Royal Show, which takes place on the 2-5 July 2006 at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, can you experience such a compelling showcase of British farming, food and rural life. It is the opportunity to support all the things you love about your countryside.

Packed with exclusive countryside shopping, rural crafts, a flower show and fine food and drink; there’s action galore from country pursuits to the latest in 4x4s. From the poultry marquee to the spectacular cattle parades, Britain’s top show jumpers to world-renowned hunter classes, you can’t fail to love what’s on offer! Free advice for smallholders will be on-hand for the first time in a new dedicated area and the estate maintenance section features all the latest compact kit from tractors to quad bikes, paddock maintenance to groundcare. As if that wasn’t enough, the Royal Show promises to deliver the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends, relax, be entertained and enjoy the rural way of life.

In the Countryside Arena, the essence of the British rural scene comes to life. Displays include the fast and furious Pedigree Agility Stakes, ferreting and falconry, with daring free-flying displays of birds of prey. You can test your skills at clay shooting, rifle-shooting and archery and even experience the adrenalin-filled Landrover rollercoaster. Other Royal Show highlights include a new environment demonstration, the ever-popular scurry-driving, hound parades and tug-of-war, while among the rich and diverse display in the Grand Ring, is the magnificent King’s Troop Artillery, which is making a welcome return.

The smallholder area is tailor-made for followers of a ‘new farming revolution’ and will boast demonstrations, livestock displays and talks on getting started in farming. Everything that might be of interest to new and small-scale farmers will be there, including great deals from suppliers and horticultural and other specialists on-hand offering expert advice.

New equine elements for 2006 include seven new classes of coloured horses and a new Driven Championship, which will look to crown the cream of the horse-drawn world. All the traditional Royal Show horse-lover’s favourites will be still at the show including the prestigious HOYS ridden class qualifiers, Knights of Middle England jousting and junior grand prix.

Building on the successes of last year, the 2006 show experience will be valuable and informative as well as enjoyable. To be at the Royal Show is to be engaged with the rural way of life and there has never been a better time nor a more suitable venue to showcase and celebrate the new opportunities in our rural communities. Be a part of that celebration.
