 On 28th and 29th April 2001 the NEC, in association with Pulling Power, Carlton TV’s top motoring programme, will be taking the wraps off a brand new motoring event. A huge audience is expected to enjoy one of the largest collections of sports and supercars under one roof; from the ever-popular MG through MR2’s to Ferraris, from coupes to concepts such as the Lotus M250. This is a show packed with sports and performance cars including some of the most exotic cars in the world in the Evo Supercar Arena. Exciting features include the opportunity to go for a 20 mile spin in the car of your dreams. Sporting Bears are providing over 50 new and classic sports and supercars, sponsored by Nick Whale Sportscars Ltd. You will also be helping a worthy cause as all donations for rides go to charity. You needn’t worry about missing the Spanish Grand Prix or qualifying if you are visiting the Exhibition as there are TV’s throughout the bars and restaurants, including a huge video wall within the exhibition hall itself. A host of fantastic competition prizes will be on offer include five laps in a specially adapted 2-seater F1 Grand Prix racing car or a day out with Evo magazine. Information The following is a list of confirmed “Star Cars” appearing at the show. De Tomaso De Tomaso cars are to be retailed officially in the UK for the first time in 20 years through Modena Cars UK. The Sportscar Show will be the first official UK appearance of the Guara.
Powered by a 4.6 litre Ford V8, developing 305bhp the Guara is capable of 270kmh. Modena Cars UK will only be importing a maximum of 10 cars a year. Noble M10
The remarkable M10 is the latest addition to the show line up. The 140mph V6, 2 seater sports car was recently launched in the UK and offers jaw dropping performance for under £30,000. Lotus
The 192bhp Exige further establishes Lotus as a modern day Sportscar manufacturer and a number of these cars will be on display throughout the show complemented by the already established Elise. AC Cobra
The 5 litre CRS is a welcome addition by long established sports car manufacturer AC Motors. This vehicle creates a link between the Classic Sports cars and modern vehicles on display at the show. Jensen
Nick Whale Sports Cars will be displaying the V8 4.6 litre Jensen eagerly anticipated for release at the end of 2001. Special Features Sporting Bears Sporting Bears offer dream rides in dream cars. Over 50 sports and super cars will be giving rides to the general public in return for modest a modest contribution to charity. Cars include Ferraris, Porsches, Jaguars and MGs - both modern and classic.
