ALL ABOARD FOR THE WARLEY NATIONAL MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION

The Warley National Model Railway Exhibition, the largest model railway show in the UK, returns to The NEC, Birmingham on Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 November.

Music producer, TV personality and railway enthusiast Pete Waterman will open the show this year and will also display some of his own models - including those from his Leamington Spa layout.  The other star attraction for 2008 is the Thomas Edmondson locomotive. Built in Germany in 1918 it spent its working life in Spain before being preserved in Cumbria.

 2008 celebrates the 40th anniversary of the end of steam traction on British Rail - August 11 1968 -and Warley Model Railway Club will be operating its 'Queslett' layout with locomotives that operated in the North West of England that year. The Show will also display 75 working layouts of all shapes and sizes and a whole host of trade stands where visitors can buy ready-to-run items, specialist components and all materials for modelling.

 Paul Jones, Exhibition Manager at Warley National Model Railway Exhibition said "Each year the Show attracts more and more visitors as our net spreads wider.  The Show now has something for everyone including layouts from across a number of historical periods right up to the present day.  Our aim is to involve people young and old in this truly fascinating hobby that will last them a lifetime!"
