Wedding Planner
We have not put any proposed timings on any of these arrangements as this can vary from couple to couple, depending on the time you have available. Some people plan their wedding years in advance whereas others (like us!) plan the whole thing in just two months. This planner is intended as a useful checklist of just what does need to be arranged in order to make your perfect day.

GETTING THERE......

When it comes to choosing your means of transportfor the big day, there is a huge variety to choose from. You may fancy arriving in a horse-drawn carriage, a vintage Rolls or even on a motorbike. Whatever you choose, you may like to consider the time of year (and possible weather), the overall "theme"of your wedding and how your particular choice of transport will look in the photographs. Whatever you choose, be sure to book well in advance.

CAPTURING YOUR SPECIAL DAY

Choose your photographer carefully, considering the type and number of photos you want ,along with the price you are prepared to pay. Most photographers offer a range of packages. Do you want the whole day captured on film, from your early morning preparations to your going away? or would you prefer something more relaxed and informal? Perhaps you might like to discuss the venue and possible shots and locations etc beforehand. The photographer may already be familiar with your chosen venue and so be able to advise you.

CHOOSING THE DRESS

Choosing that special dress is exciting. Take someone with you whose judgement you can trust. Try on lots of different styles - you may be surprised how they look when you are wearing them. You want to look your very best but you also need to feel comfortable in your chosen dress so that you can enjoy your day to the full. Think aboutaccesories although these do not necessarily have to be purchased at the same time.

FLOWERS

The flowersa bride chooses are dictated by personal preference as well as needing to complement the wedding and bridesmaid dresses and suit the bride and bridesmaids.A good florist will be able to show you many examples from which to make your choice and will be happy to discuss your individual requirements and ideas. Complementary floral arrangements for wedding and reception venues will also be needed as well as corsages and buttonholes for the important guests and what about special "thank you" bouquets for the mothers ?

VENUE

No longer is it just a choice of church or Registry Office. Nowadays, civil marriages can be held in a range of places from football clubs to castles. Receptions can be held in a hotel or restaurant or why not hire a marqueeor the local village hall? Your wedding can be as formal or informal as you want it to be, with entertainment from string quartets to ceilidh bands - the choice is yours.
