SPRING WEDDING SHOW FIRST FOR MIDLAND BRIDES-TO-BE

Midland brides-to-be will be able to source everything they need for their wedding thanks to a major, brand new wedding show coming to the NEC, Birmingham this spring.

On  21-23 February 2003, Confetti and Co will be launching its new flagship show, The UK Wedding Show in association with Slim.Fast, one of the UK’s leading slimming brands.

Traditionally, there has never been a major wedding show in the Midlands region during the early part of the year, which is when all those couples who were engaged at Christmas or the New Year are set to start their wedding planning.

A specialist in consumer wedding shows for over 15 years, Confetti and Co. is the UK’s top wedding show organiser.  It currently hosts events in Liverpool, London, Newcastle and Manchester.  The move into Birmingham will satisfy local demand.  Linda Powell, managing director of Confetti & Co explains:

“The UK Wedding Show at the NEC will provide a service that winter-engagement couples in the Midlands are currently denied.  They won’t have to trek to London or Manchester for their ideas and inspiration.  We will be bringing a host of key suppliers to them.”

Slim.Fast will have a strong presence at The UK Wedding Show, offering advice on losing those few extra pounds in time for the big day by using the easy to follow Slim.Fast Plan – leaving brides and bridegrooms with one less thing to worry about.  Visitors will be offered a chance to sample products.

There will be hundreds of exhibitors with many coming from around the Midlands.
Lilli Floral Art is based in Tardebigge, Bromsgrove.  The company specialises in individually designed cakes, floristry and stationery and has produced work for TV dramas including a recent episode of Dalziel and Pascoe.

Stratford-upon-Avon based Cordelia, advises mothers and other high profile women in the wedding party on their outfits.  Owners Christine Tomes and Maggie Webb visit the French catwalks at least twice a year to ensure their range includes the latest and finest creations.

Amongst the photographers will be traditional and reportage specialist, Clive Blair of Barratt and Coe in Edgbaston, Birmingham.  Clive’s reputation takes him to weddings across the UK and Northern Ireland.

There will be gown designers, shoe designers, tiara specialists, jewellers, venues and confectioners.  There will be purveyors of favours, designers of personalised wedding stationery, entertainers and planners.

Kodak Weddings will have PCs and laptops on its stand to combine virtual and real wedding planning.

If dawn ‘til dusk shopping gets too much, there’s always the men’s crèche complete with bar, TV and games consoles.  To alleviate stress, a professional massage will be available in the Relaxation and Pampering area, where visitors will find expert hair, nail and beauty advice and demonstrations.

Tickets for the show cost £7 on the door and £6 in advance.  Book online at www.theukweddingshows.co.uk or call the hotline on 01704 882050.
