WESTON PARK
"YOU WILL FIND WESTON BEAUTIFUL. I MARVEL Weston Park has all the attributes you would expect from one of England's premier stately homes - exquisite works of art, beautiful furniture, extensive grounds and fascinating history; it also has a unique welcoming atmosphere which is probably why it is such a favourite venue for everything from weddings to the G8 conference.
Designed and built in 1671 by Lady Elizabeth Wilbraham, Weston Park houses many priceless treasures and collections of fine art collected through the centuries by the Earls of Bradford.
We spent a very pleasant Sunday there this last weekend - on the one dry day amongst many wet ones and we could see what makes it so popular. There is something here for everyone and it is the ideal place to spend a summer's day as you can wander in the grounds at your leisure, enjoy the exquisitely landscaped formal gardens and admire the treasures in the house. For younger visitors, there is also an adventure playground and giant board games in the courtyard.
For more information, please visit Weston Park's own website www.weston-park.com Our visit to Weston Park was made as part of a weekend visit to Staffordshire, during which we stayed overnight at the delightful Moat House Hotel and also visited fascinating Shugborough - please click on the links to see our other reviews.
