Visitors to the UK’s biggest, brightest and most vibrant holiday show, THE HOLIDAY SHOW 2001, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham between February 23rd and 25th, will be able to save money on their forthcoming holidays.
Caroline Robinson, Marketing Manager of organisers, Inside Communications, commented: “Visitors who book a holiday whilst at the show are likely to find they will benefit from a financial discount by the tour operator whether the booking be for an all-inclusive package, a cruise or flight and accommodation booked separately.
“Most exhibitors have pledged to discount their holidays to visitors who decide to buy there and then. This could amount to a substantial saving on a pre-booked holiday for a family of, say, four people at peak season.”

Over 300 exhibitors will be attending making it the UK’s largest holiday show. In response to previous visitor requests there will be representatives from a whole range of holiday options including major tour operators, smaller, specialist independents and private villa organisers.
There will be airlines and tourist boards including representatives from Poland, the newly opening up Middle East, the Caribbean and South Asia - Sri Lanka and Japan will be there.
Twelve villa rental and flight specialists will comprise ‘Florida World’ and there will be representatives from 25 companies, resorts and venues here in the UK offering unusual and interesting days out. For anyone seeking an adventure or activity holiday, there will be exhibitors to help.
The Holiday Show 2001 will be ideal for anyone who wants either to escape from reality for a day or the serious holiday investor who is already planning where to go during 2001. There will be an exhibitor to suit every visitor’s taste.

In addition to visiting stands, there will be an internet cafe. Over a cup of coffee, visitors will be able to take a break and still browse, looking for their ideal destination by surfing the net.
There will be an anticipated 300 exhibitors from across the holiday spectrum from cruise specialists, like Orient Lines, to independent tour operators such as Journey the World and Independent Traveller.
The major operators, including Thomson, will be there along with airlines from across the globe, travel agents - Thomas Cooke and James Travel amongst them - will be exhibiting and there will be information available from the stands of a host of tourist boards from all over the world.
It is expected that over 30,000 people will attend the exhibition, a 10% increase over last year.
Organisers of the show account for its growing popularity partly because of the central location of the NEC along with the increase in the number of holidays abroad being taken by the British public due to the stability and strength of sterling.

Caroline Robinson, Marketing Manager of organisers Inside Communications commented: “From our research, we have identified a substantial year on year increase in spend on holidays by the British public.
“The amount spent on holidays per person per year by visitors to the show in February 2000 was £1270 with most people spending between £1000 and £2000. This is compared with an individual spend of just £500 in 1999.
“Our research has indicated that many of our visitors now take two or even three holidays a year.
“This is why we are extending the show this year to incorporate respected and established representatives from the cruise and independent travel sectors. We will be offering visitors a much greater choice of destinations and overall holiday styles.”
